O.P.I. DS Magic

I recently bought O.P.I's DS Magic. It's one of their "designer series" polishes, which I completely love so far. The designer series polishes seem to have an extra sparkle in them that most nail polishes don't have. They are usually a bit more expensive than the regular polishes (a couple dollars more) but they just seem a bit better in terms of glitter content, shine, etc. Anyway, here is a picture of the DS Magic:

It is hard to see in this picture but there are actually some very tiny little purple sparkles in it that just shine in the light. Very pretty, although almost un-noticeable by the naked eye. I would say if you are looking for a very stunning, vibrant, bold, royal blue, then definitely check this colour out. Blue lovers will adore this colour. It's perfect for a rainy day.

I also tried throwing on a coat of O.P.I's Silver Shatter over top. Here's how it turned out:

Not bad.
Although, I do sort of wish I had just left the DS Magic on its own. By itself the colour just glimmers in the light and you can really see all the individual little flecks and sparkles. However, the silver shatter with the blue is definitely not a bad combination.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this colour to the world. Lovers of blue will appreciate this royal shade, and anyone who is looking for a bold colour for fall should definitely check this out.

I'm Going to the Deadmau5 Concert!

So my boyfriend and I were sitting at home on the couch one night watching TV and there was a live performance from Deadmau5 on. It looked amazing! All those lights and lasers and strobes! All those sweaty people dancing! And of course the amazing beats pumping out of the giant speakers everywhere. We turned to eachother and claimed "I want to do that!"
A few days later I happened to look online and saw that he was coming to Vancouver. After some searching, we finally found tickets and we're going to the concert tomorrow night!

Of course I had to do some funky nail art to match the occasion!
Here it is:

What do you think??
I used OPI "Go on green" for the base, then I brushed on a little bit of Nicole by OPI's "Nicole... Spotted" on just the tips.
Then I added square rhinestones to the tips in random order, and drew Deadmau5 with a tiny brush and some black nail polish. Viola!

Introduction

Hello friends!

My name is Careasa Baxmann. I am a nail technician and esthetician in British Columbia, Canada.
I've decided to start a new blog to showcase my nail art, post tutorials and just have fun and talk anything beauty related.
Nail art is my passion! I love it so very much. I feel at ease when I am painting my nails and the whole world just goes kind of quiet for a while. I figured I might as well do it for a living since I love it so much! So I went back to school and learned all kinds of things from relaxing massage, to waxing, to nail enhancements and everything in between!

Come join me on my journey. Learn something new. Have fun and remember that practice makes perfect!

Xoxo,
